AWRA 2018 Summer Conference Abstract Submittal Instructions
The Science, Management and Governance of Transboundary Groundwater
July 9 – 11, 2018

Before submitting your abstract, please have all the following information with you:
1. You will need your AWRA username and password and if you don't have one you can set one up through the abstract submittal system link: https://awraconference.secure-platform.com/a/solicitations/home/1 )
2. Name, title, employer affiliation, full mailing address, email address, phone number of the main contact and the presenting author (if different from the abstract submitter).
3. Name, affiliation and email address of co-authors.
4. Type of presentation: oral, poster, either.
5. Abstract Title
6. Abstract (500 words or fewer)
7. Credit card information for payment of abstract submittal fee ($25)
Note: Payment of the abstract fee must be made first, before abstract submission can be completed.
Abstract Submission: A processing fee of $25 will be charged for each abstract submitted payable upon submission of the abstract. The fee is non-refundable and will not be credited toward the cost of the presenter's conference registration fee.
The Conference Planning Committee is seeking abstracts on any and all topics dealing with, or related to, the Science, Management and Governance of Transboundary Groundwater. The term 'transboundary' is not limited to 'transnational', as whenever groundwater crosses or underlies two or more political jurisdictions, international or not, it must be managed as a transboundary resource. Abstracts for both oral and poster presentations are sought and no papers are required – just the abstract, which is submitted online.
To be considered for placement in the program, please go to the link given below to connect to the abstract submittal form. ABSTRACTS MUST BE RECEIVED VIA THE WEB SITE ON OR BEFORE FEBRUARY 28, 2018. Membership in AWRA is encouraged but is not a requirement for presentation. All conference presenters are required to pay the appropriate conference registration fee. The quality of the submitted abstract will be viewed as an indication of the quality of the presentation. Previous performance or failure to give timely notification of cancellation at previous annual and specialty conferences may influence the decision for acceptance.

Panel Sessions: To convene a panel session that promotes discussion on a particular issue the convener should submit one abstract describing the session, its title, the panelists and their discussion topics, and the name, email address, title, and affiliation of each panelist. Please advise prospective panelists that they must pay the appropriate registration fee.

Review: Soon after the February 23rd deadline, abstracts will be reviewed by the Technical Program Committee for originality, technical merit, currency, and relevance to the Conference topics. Authors' suggestions for topic and format placement (oral, panel or poster) will be considered, but the Committee will make the final decision. Abstracts received after the deadline may not be accepted.
Notification of Acceptance/Placement: Acceptance notification will be made via email to the PRESENTING author by late March 2018 or sooner.
Cancellation Policy: Late cancellations and failures to give scheduled presentations are disruptive and leave gaps in the program that are distracting to all attendees. Before submitting an abstract, authors should be confident that they will attend the meeting and make the presentation. If the presenter finds he/she can't attend then they should attempt to find another person to make the presentation. If cancellation is unavoidable, the presenter should notify Patricia Reid at email@example.com by June 1, 2018 otherwise a fee will be charged. The late cancellation/no show fees may be waived on a case-by-case basis by contacting Patricia Reid at firstname.lastname@example.org.
