The Science, Management and Governance of Transboundary Groundwater

Call for Topical Sessions and Workshops
Topical Session Submittal Deadline – January 29, 2018
Workshop Submittal Deadline - April 2, 2018

As part of the general Call for Abstracts we are pleased to announce an open Call for Topical Sessions and Call for Workshops.

Topical Sessions allow a dedicated block of time for several focused papers or panel discussion to explore a specific topic in more detail.  The deadline for proposing a topical session is January 29.  There is no fee to submit a proposal for a Topical Session.

A Topical Session organizer’s role is to propose a relevant and timely subject, recruit speakers to submit abstracts to the session, and moderate the actual session during the Conference. Those interested in organizing and hosting a topical session are asked to submit the following information:

• Title
• A brief description (fewer than 250 words) stating the importance of the topic and the rationale for the proposed session
• Organizer(s), including brief biography and contact information
• List of potential presenters (to submit abstracts via the general call) and their topics, if available

Proposals for Topical Sessions will be evaluated by the Conference Planning Committee based on the timeliness and relevance of the topic, and the degree to which the topic will bring together key researchers and practitioners to disseminate recent advances to the transboundary groundwater community.  Note: a unique code will be provided to the accepted sessions’ organizers for presenters to use when submitting session abstracts.

Abstracts submitted for an accepted Topical Session will be subject to the same submittal and review process as all other abstracts.

Workshops will be conducted on Sunday July 8, 2018, in either an all-day, 4 hour or 2 hour format.  To propose a workshop on a relevant topic, please provide a brief (one page maximum) proposal listing the topic, relevance, target audience, instructors, and estimated cost to each attendee.  Feel free to contact one of the chairs before submitting the proposal.  Proposals are due April 2, 2018.  We seek creative, original, and compelling workshop topics.

Send Topical Session and Workshop proposals to the Conference Chairs: John Tracy john.tracy@ag.tamu.edu  and Michael Campana Michael.campana@oregonstate.edu.
